Privacy Policy

Claims-Lab handles claim inquiries with care. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it and the choices available to you.

Last updated: 18 August 2026

1. About this policy

This policy applies to Claims-Lab and claims-lab.com.au. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Claims-Lab.

2. Information we collect

We may collect information you provide through an inquiry, Fit Check, email, phone call, consultation or a private readiness process. This can include your name, business name, contact details, claim details, insurer position, financial information, the support you are seeking and information you provide about other people involved in the matter.

Claim information can be confidential or sensitive. Please provide only what is relevant, and do not send large claim files through the public inquiry form.

3. How we collect and use it

We collect information directly from you, or from a person you have authorised to act for you. We use it to respond to inquiries, assess whether a consult or engagement may be suitable, provide agreed services, communicate with you, administer invoices and meet legal, regulatory or professional obligations.

Submitting an inquiry or Fit Check does not create an engagement, professional relationship or obligation for Claims-Lab to act. Services are only provided where terms have been separately agreed.

4. Website forms and browser storage

The public inquiry, Fit Check and invited Client Readiness intake are submitted through the Website and routed to John for review. The Client Readiness intake can also store a draft locally in your browser. You may optionally attach one non-sensitive document or photo to a Fit Check, up to 8 MB. Do not use public forms or email for personal information, financial records, policy documents, medical information, confidential claim material or large files. Claims-Lab will arrange a secure transfer where sensitive supporting material is needed. Do not rely on the Website for urgent notices or deadlines.

5. Disclosure and security

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose it where reasonably necessary to provide agreed services or operate our business, including to professional advisers, hosting or technology providers, payment providers and service providers engaged for your matter, or where required or permitted by law.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law.

6. Cookies and browser storage

The Website may use essential technical functions and browser local storage to support features such as saving a draft. You can clear local storage through your browser settings. If we introduce analytics, advertising cookies or a new third-party service that materially changes how information is handled, we will update this policy.

7. Access, correction and complaints

You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you. For a privacy question or complaint, email john@claims-lab.com.au with “Privacy” in the subject line. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time. If you remain dissatisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Website terms

The Website provides general information about Claims-Lab and is not legal, financial, insurance or other professional advice.
